From the sails to the oars…this kit is ship-shape! The Barbary Coast was the name given to the Northern Coast of Africa during the 16th to 19th century – now part of Morocco, Algeria, Tunisia, and Libya. One of the most romantic types of sailing ships of that time was the Barbary Coast Felucca. A shortened version of a galley; it is recognizable by its two lateen sails and its 16-20 long oars protruding out its sides. Though referred to as the Barbary Pirates the crew of these ships always considered themselves properly commissioned men-of-war. This kit from Lindberg offers a detailed 4 ¾” replica of the distinctive sailing ship. It features details like wood grain, injected plastic sails and decals for the sail, nameplate and flags.
